I know that every week I do these outfit posts and I think it’s really the last time before we switch from “I don’t really need a coat” fall to “holy crap where are all my sweaters and wool socks” fall (thank you, New England). But we’re still kind of floating in that in-between state where I’m trying to get a few last wears out of my more warm-weather pieces, with autumnal elements thrown in here and there. I know that October isn’t exactly the time for sleeveless dresses and bare legs, but hey, you gotta work with what you got, amirite?
Forever 21 dress (different style)& necklace (silver version) / NY & Co. belt (sim) / Dolce Vita booties
Zara top (sim) / TJ Maxx pants (sim) & flats (sim & more comfortable!) / Anchor earrings (sim)
Target t-shirt / Forever 21 vest (sim) / Macys jeans / Dolce Vita booties / Charlotte Russe necklace (sim)
Banana Republic sweater (sim)/ Isaac Mizrahi dress (sim) / Milly & Grace necklace (old, but love this brand too) / Dolce Vita booties (zipper version) / JustFab bag (sim) / Kate Spade watch (glitter version)
This is another week where I can’t explain how, but I lost a day. Thursday is mysteriously absent from this bunch. Either I had amazing plans after work or I looked like a bum and it wasn’t worth photographing. Either way, see you next week!

I don’t want to be another person that’s just constantly bitching about the weather but FOR GOD’S SAKE WHEN WILL THIS WINTER END. There, I said it.
Listen, I know I don’t have it as bad as my comrades in Boston (as someone who used to live in Cambridge many moons ago with street parking, I get it), but I feel like I’m starting to get in something of a rut with my wardrobe. I mean there’s only so many outfits that you can plan around snowboots, you know? I don’t even remember the last time I wore a skirt. Even though Nantucket hasn’t had the same snow that other parts of New England are buried under right now, the removal of what is now almost a month old snow and ice seems to leave something to be desired. Falling on my face on the uneven sidewalks and cobblestones of Main Street was a legitimate fear of mine in July; I can’t even describe what it’s like just walking into the office from my car right now.
Never one to completely give up fashion for function, I’m doing my best to stay positive and bright. I don’t care that it’s winter anymore, I am wearing every neon and floral pattern I can get my hands on. I’m done dressing for the season. At this point, I’m just trying to wear the least depressing clothes I have. And for this past week, that includes:
Monday: Old Navy chambray & loafers (sim) / Thrifted Brooks Brothers blazer / TJ Maxx pants (sim) / ILY Couture necklace (sim)
Tuesday: Talbots sweater (sim) / Banana Republic top (sim) / J.Crew pants (sim) / Target belt (sim) / Old Navy flats (sim)
Wednesday: Forever 21 sweater (sim), pants (sim) & earrings (sim)/ Old Navy necklace (sim) / C.Wonder flats (sim)
Thursday: Limited dress (sim) / J.Crew blazer / Dolve Vita boots via Nordstrom Rack / Monelle earrings / LIT Boutique necklace
Friday: Forever 21 sweater (sim) & pants / NY&Company top (sim) / Claire’s necklace (sim) / Sears booties (sim)
What are you all doing to remix your wardrobes? I don’t know how many more “winter work outfits” I can Pin before I lose it and shred all of my bulky sweaters.
Stay stylish,
~L
Remember when I used to take pictures of my outfits for work everyday and Instagram them and then I would do a weekly wrap up where I recapped said outfits? Yeah, I kind of forgot about it too. Actually, that’s not entirely true. If you follow me on Instagram or on Facebook, you know that I have sort of been keeping up with my daily #ootds. So now with the launch of my new blog site, I figured it was time to resuscitate my little style series. Check out these looks from last week:
Monday: J.Crew blazer & t-shirt / Old Navy pants / C. Wonder flats
Tuesday: Banana Republic top / Old Navy cardigan, earrings & flats / C. Wonder skirt
Wednesday: NY & Company jacket / Banana Republic top / J.Crew Skirt /Target shoes / Kate Spade watch
Friday (casual day!): J.Crew sweater / Old Navy coat & flats / Ann Taylor jeans / Kate Spade necklaces & hat
Side note: I didn’t forget Thursday, I just didn’t try too hard that day, so it wasn’t really worth photographing. I came home and immediately changed into a nicer outfit for my anniversary dinner, and by that time I was late (surprise) and it was dark, and not ideal for outfit selfies.
Anyone else running out of outfit inspirations in this bitter weather? I’m getting a little sick of styling my ensembles by what level of outwear I need that day.
